Richmond Station Forecourt
Dear Richmond upon Thames Borough Council,
I am interested in seeing the project plan and any related documents for Richmond Station's forecourt pedestrianisation in 2012.
I am looking specifically for figure ground diagrams/maps of the station redevelopment plan, as well as any documents discussing the plan. I would like to learn what the reasons and aims were for the pedestrianisation.
Yours faithfully,
Eliza Shaw

Our response:
Please see the link below for the Transport Consultative Group report
relating to the Richmond Town Centre Enhancement Scheme. The changes to
the station forecourt comprised part of this scheme. The primary
objective of pedestrianizing the station forecourt was to improve the
accessibility of the bus stops and enhance the streetscape.

In addition, attached are the following drawings:
Original Design Layout
This shows the original design which formed the basis for detailed
consultation with stakeholders. This design was amended prior to
implementation
Implemented Layout
This shows the layout as originally implemented following consultation.
The layout was the subject of a review once it became operational and
feedback indicated that the provision for buses could be improved.
Revised Layout (Current)
This show the current layout. Following the review referred to above the
bus stop provision was increased and an additional bus stop introduced to
better cater for the 11 bus routes serving Richmond Station.
I hope you are satisfied with this response.

Dear Natalie Lacey,
Is it possible to gain access to the Business Case (for the Area Based Scheme) that Richmond council had to submit to TfL for the Richmond generation scheme (that included station forecourt pedestrianisation)?
Yours sincerely,
Eliza Shaw

Dear Natalie Lacey,
One last request. I would like to know how much the pedestrianisation of Richmond forecourt cost, and who contributed to the cost (e.g. Network Rail, the borough, TfL, Southwestern trains, etc).
Yours sincerely,

Our response:
As explained previously the pedestrianisation of the station forecourt was
implemented and funded as part of the wider town centre highway
improvement scheme. We do not hold information on the cost for just the
pedestrianisation of the station forecourt.
Please confirm if you would like the overall cost of the town centre
highway improvement scheme? However please note as explained this would
not be of use if you only wish to know the cost in relation to the
station.
I hope you are satisfied with this response.
