Under the Freedom of Information Act please could you supply the following information within 20 working days:

1) What type of RFID tags, active or passive, does Whitcliffe Mount use?

2) How long have Whitcliffe Mount used RFID?

3) What type of frequency does the RFID operate at?

• Low Frequency (LF) 125 to 134 KHz band
• High Frequency (HF) 13.56 MHz
• Ultra High Frequency (UHF) 433 MHZ and 860 to 956 MHz band
• Microwave Frequency 2.45 to 5.8 GHz band
• Ultra Wide Band (UWB)

4) What is the range the RFID tag emits/can be read at?

5) Can the RFID chips be read in real time/used to locate the students on the schools premises? I.e. does the school have a real time location system (RTLS)?

6) Where are the receivers located? I.e. classroom doors, entrances gates.

7) Which company provides the technology?

8) Please provide any literature issued to students/parents to inform them of the RFID chip the students carry?

8) If answer to question 1 is 'passive', are the school planning to extend the existing RFID system to a real time location system? I.e. where students whereabouts can be tracked at any time anywhere on the campus.

9) If the school has used RFID in the past please advise dates it ran from and to and reason for ceasing with the technology.

If you need further clarification, please contact me by email. My preferred format to receive the information is electronically, but I can accept hard copies.

Some parts of this request may be easier to answer than others, and in such case please could you release available data as soon as possible rather than delay the entire request. If the costs of processing this request exceed the limit in the Act, please advise on what information you are able to supply within the cost limit.

I am writing to request an internal review of Whitcliffe Mount - Specialist Business and Enterprise College, Cleckheaton's handling of my FOI request 'RFID use in Whitcliffe Mount - Specialist Business and Enterprise College'.

My Freedom of Information request has been delayed and Whitcliffe Mount College should have responded, as is their obligation under the Freedon of Information Act, by the 25th January 2013.

No response has been received from Whitcliffe Mount College to the Freedom of Information request or internal review.

I sent an email from my private email address to the school email address, from their website, requesting acknowledgment of receipt of the Freedom of Information request and the Internal Review request.

The college's email address was valid. No confirmation of reciept of the request, review or my email has been forthcoming.

An official complaint was lodged with the Information Commissioner's Office on 15th March 2013 regarding Whitcliffe Mount Specialist Business and Enterprise College's handling of this Freedom of Information request.
