Review of political bans on police employment

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

Please provide the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

1.Have you conducted a review of your ban on the employment of members of specified political groups (including the British National Party) as a result of or following:

a)The judgment of 6 November 2012 in the Case of Redfearn v. The United Kingdom?
b)The written statement on 'Dismissal for Political Opinions' of 14 February, 2013 from Jo Swinson, Minister of State for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs?

2. Please supply all documents related to such a review including minutes of meetings and reports.

3. If you have not yet conducted such a review please tell me if you intend to do so, when and if not your grounds for not doing so.

4. Please supply all documents related to such any decision to hold or not hold a review including minutes of meetings and reports.

Your request will now be considered in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (the Act). You will receive a response within the
statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to
the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third
party.
In some circumstances Greater Manchester Police may be unable to achieve
this deadline.  If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised
time-scale at the earliest opportunity.
There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you request.  If this is the case you will be informed and
the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment
from you. If you choose not to make payment then your request will remain
unanswered.

Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to
another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest
possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.
