Louise Bicknell

Dear Department of Health and Social Care,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department of Health and Social Care's handling of my FOI request 'Review of CMDUs by the Antivirals and Therapeutics Task Force'.

Your answer only deals with point 1. of my question

In response to a number of Parliamentary questions, statements have been made that the Antivirals and Therapeutics Taskforce “review the operations of CMDUs to ensure that they remain fit for purpose”. To “ensure” in the legal and dictionary definition is “to make certain”, “to guarantee”.

I therefore expected from a governance, accountability and audit perspective that there would be an audit trail showing how this was happening. Therefore, that reports would have been prepared to the Supervisory Board to demonstrate that the Taskforce was delivering on its stated responsibility in support of clear and transparent Government.

It for this reason that I am asking for internal review as there must be reports and documents evidencing what this oversight involved and that it was being performed.

Please can you additionally confirm
1. whether any of the actions expected as set out in questions 2 - 7 took place; and
2. If not, that this failure to provide accurately worded Parliamentary answers has been reported and that the incorrect answers will be reworded to reflect that they were misleading.
