Dear Wiltshire Constabulary,

I hope you and the team are well. Please can you provide figures on the number of cases of revenge porn reported to the force in the year 2015/16.

Please can you also disaggregate data according to the following information:
- The crime outcome (no action, charge, caution etc) of the offences as well as the number of offences where the victim did not support or withdrew support for police action
- The number of victims under the age of 18
- The gender of the victim

Please also provide, where possible, cases in which the case involved social media. I understand this isn't routinely logged, so please just include notes from free-text searches for key words ("social media" , "Twitter", "Facebook" etc) where available.

Yours faithfully,
M Esslemont

Good Morning,

Our Ref: FOI 2020/273

Thank you for your request for information dated 10 March 2020 concerning Revenge Porn. Your request will be considered under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party. In some circumstances Wiltshire Police may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised time-scale at the earliest opportunity.

There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment from you. If you chose not to make a payment then your request will remain unanswered.

Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.

Dear M Esslemont

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.

Due to the current national crisis there are a number of departments within Wiltshire Police working at full capacity and therefore resources are being used in the efforts to tackle the issues arising from the Covid-19 outbreak. In light of this, we are unfortunately having to ask requesters whether the information they seek is absolutely necessary.

Before we process your request could you please confirm whether the information is deemed to be necessary? If you do deem it necessary then we will process it in the normal way; however there may be a delay in responding for the reasons articulated above.

Apologies for any inconvenience at this time.

Kind regards,

Force Disclosure Unit

Dear Ms Evans

Thank you for this - I understand that there may be a delay due to the impact of coronavirus. I'd like to amend my request to account for two time periods, to save you having to answer subsequent requests. This information is necessary, but hopefully it will not be too onerous to provide.

Please can provide the information originally requested for the year 2015/2016, but also for 2019/2020? I recognise that this will take at least an additional 20 working days to provide.

Thank you so much for your understanding.

Yours sincerely,
M Esslemont
