Good Afternoon
Thank you for your request below, please see information Wirral Council
can confirm below.
With regards to your request for information, the Council's Licensing,
Health and Safety and General Purposes Committee considered a report at
its public meeting held on 19 March 2012 in relation to fees payable in
respect of local elections for the 2012/13 financial year. Please note
that the report and the Committee's decision are available upon the
Council's website.
The report was considered in open session and the Committee agreed that
the Returning Officer fee for local elections and by-elections be
calculated upon the following basis '£233.09 per Ward'. This is a gross
figure.
Accordingly, the fee payable to the Council's Returning Officer for the
two forthcoming by-elections will be £466.18(gross).
The Deputy Returning Officer fee is calculated at 50% of the Returning
Officer fee (gross). Surjit Tour, the Council's Acting Director of Law, HR
and Asset Management has been appointed the Deputy Returning Officer for
both forthcoming by-elections and will receive a fee totalling £233.09
(gross).
Thank you for your enquiry, kind regards
