Thank you for your request for information (FOI - 0513 - 005) about
Retained Duty System. We received your request on 21/05/2013 and I am
dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and
will supply you with our findings on or before the 18th of June 2013.

Total RDS establishment based upon full cover equivalent is 335

2. What is the actual number of Retained Duty System employees employed on
the date of this request?

Current RDS employees based upon full cover equivalent is 279.75

3. How many Retained Duty System employees have joined your organisation
for the periods of:

New RDS employees 2010 = 15
New RDS employees 2011 = 23
New RDS employees 2012 = 16
New RDS employees 2013 = 13

4. How many Retained Duty System employees left your organisation for the
same periods?

RDS Leavers 2010 = 27
RDS Leavers 2011 = 23
RDS Leavers 2012 = 38
RDS Leavers 2013 = 10

5. The number of Retained Duty System employees with a Wholetime Duty
System contract in your organisation?

Wholetime Employees with an RDS contract = 33

6. What is the time or distance from the Retained Duty System employee’s
home or workplace that your organisation permit for them to responds to
incidents?

Response time from home to station is 4 minutes with a further minute given
to get the appliance on the run.
