6. What is the time or distance from the Retained Duty System employee’s home or workplace that your organisation permit for them to respond to incidents? The NWF&RS Policy for Mobilising, Notification & Control Procedures states, “There is an expectation that a Wholetime appliance will book mobile in one minute from alert and retained appliances within 5 minutes, thus a Retained crew should be on station after 4 minutes to enable this to happen”; therefore, the accepted time from station is 4 minutes.
