Cornwall Highways Enquiries,

Information Classification: CONTROLLED

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your enquiry dated 12^th March 2023, which has been passed
to me by the Freedom of Information team to be responded to as a request
for service.

There is no set frequency for the resurfacing of ‘B’ roads or indeed any
other classification of road. All roads are subject to regular inspections
and surface treatment will take place according to their condition,
relative importance and availability of budget.

Clearly ‘A’ and ‘B’ roads are likely to take priority when their condition
is such that repairs are required given their level of use and (usually)
higher traffic speeds. However, their condition can vary enormously and
resurfacing could take place anywhere between every 4 or 5 years to 25+
years depending on a range of factors that influence the rate of
deterioration.

I trust the above addresses your query.

Yours sincerely
