Dear Hart District Council,

The housing options paper: http://www.hart.gov.uk/sites/default/fil... (p17) makes reference to:

"work undertaken for the Pre-Submission Core Strategy in 2012 (since withdrawn) looked at the possibility of a new settlement at Winchfield in the centre of Hart".

Could you please release the results of that work please, especially that work that led to the conclusion that Winchfield should not form part of the Core Strategy.

Yours faithfully,

David Turver

Dear Mr. Turver
On 4th March 2015 Hart District Council received from you the following
FOI request:
The housing options
paper: [1]http://www.hart.gov.uk/sites/default/fil...
makes reference to:

"work undertaken for the Pre-Submission Core Strategy in 2012 (since
withdrawn) looked at the possibility of a new settlement at Winchfield in
the centre of Hart".

Could you please release the results of that work please, especially that
work that led to the conclusion that Winchfield should not form part of
the Core Strategy.
Although submitted as a Freedom of Information request, technically
requests for environmental information (which includes that relating to
the local plan) should be dealt with under the Environment Information
Regulations 2004. Your request is therefore being treated as an EIR
request.
I attach the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Report (incorporating Strategic
Environmental Assessment (SEA)) for the now withdrawn core strategy.
Amongst other things, this work appraised the Winchfield new settlement
option along with other options on how to address the need for greenfield
development in Hart.  This document was submitted in March 2013 to the
Planning Inspector with the Core Strategy as the evidence base supporting
the choices made in the core strategy.
