Results for trial 2008-000971-15 & other information requests

We're waiting for C Thorburn to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear University of Bristol,

I have noticed that the status of this trial (2008-000971-15) on the EU Register is closed, however, I have been unable to find the results for the trial anywhere. Where have the results been published?

Also, please provide information for the following:
1. How many trials have you sponsored that are still listed as 'ongoing' on the registries but have in fact already been completed?
2. How many of the trials you have sponsored have never published their results anywhere?

Thank you

Yours faithfully,
Chrissie Thorburn

Thank you for your e-mail.  The University will endeavour to respond to
your request under the Freedom of Information Act within 20 working days.
However, we are currently experiencing a delay in providing responses.

We are currently short staffed and have a significant backlog
of requests which we are working through as quickly as we can.  This means
that some responses may be delayed beyond the statutory 20 days.  We
apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. We have contacted the
Information Commissioner’s Office to explain the situation.

We may need to ask you certain questions to clarify your request to ensure
we fully understand what information is being requested. If so, the 20
working day deadline will be calculated once we have received such
clarification.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Freedom of Information Request FOI18544

I refer to your Freedom of Information Request received on 24th November
2018

Please accept our apologies for the delay, the University has experienced
a significant increase in requests for information. The ICO is aware and
is satisfied with our progress.

Your Request and Our Response

Further to Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the “Act”) we
confirm that some of the information requested is held by the University
of Bristol (the “University”).

I have noticed that the status of this trial (2008-000971-15) on the EU
Register is closed, however, I have been unable to find the results for
the trial anywhere. Where have the results been published?

In relation to trial 2008-000971-15, this study was published in the
Journal of Psychopharmacology (27(2) 135-145)

Also, please provide information for the following:
1. How many trials have you sponsored that are still listed as 'ongoing'
on the registries but have in fact already been completed?
2. How many of the trials you have sponsored have never published their
results anywhere?

In order to provide you with this information, the University would be
required to cross reference all studies undertaken, assess their status
and then cross reference that with the status displayed on the EU
Register. This would place a signifiant burden on the University and as
such is exempt under s.12 of the Act as it would more likely than not
exceed 18 hours of staff time.
