Restrictions placed on Doctors in the case of the early passing of Officially Ostracised Persons (OOPs)

Waiting for an internal review by Department of Health (Northern Ireland) of their handling of this request.

Dear Department of Health (Northern Ireland),

When Officially Ostracised Persons (OOPs) sadly pass, generally before their time, I wondered if there were perhaps any restrictions in place preventing doctors giving Long Term Official Ostracism either as the primary Cause of death or as a major Contributory factor? What are the regulations surrounding this and can we please have a copy?

Good Luck. I wish you well.

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN

Dear Department of Health (Northern Ireland),
I am Requesting an Internal Review, please.

This is an important FOI Query, they all are.
Rest assured I fully understand the totally natural exasperations, vexations, stresses, and frustrations caused to ordinary salt-of-the-earth civil servants by long standing, fully Official, Requirements that all correspondence from me, as an Officially Ostracised Person (OOP) be, in perpetuity, Noted and Filed Only. These Official Requirements test us all and have done for a very long time.
Rest assured nobody understands such exasperations, vexations, stresses and frustrations better than myself. OOPs in the province having long had little, indeed zero rights, powers or influences, these are matters entirely outwith my control at present. Maybe, with long overdue Civil Service Reform here, things will change. It is important not to judge.
As you probably know, the Scottish Government have, on health grounds, formally declined to become involved. Excellent people all, aware of their Duty of Care to their own staff, indeed it is difficult to blame the Scottish Government. They are in no way to be criticised, they have done their best.
Rest assured also that the ICO will again be contacted, and a complaint again made, to see what, if anything, can be done in present circumstances.
For all of the above I again apologise. Traditional Ulster, No Communication, Note and File Only, Not an Inch thinking styles have long challenged the best of us, world leading business, investment and medical leaders, change management consultants too, included. Hopefully, with the willing help of the ICO, things will eventually improve.
Good Luck. I wish you well.

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN

Dear Department of Health (Northern Ireland),
Hey we’re badly overdue. Official DoH silence is deafening.
The thing is that if the province is ever going to attract investment or even become in any way insurable, official statistics have to be internationally trusted and have to be able to withstand the closest of forensic scrutiny. Normal business and statistical and medical protocols have openly to be both followed and embraced, to become a proud boast indeed.
All insurance and investment contracts are based on total honesty and full disclosure of the facts and risk factors involved.
Fully and proudly and officially admitted and defended NICS policies of causing stress even to vulnerable children at Christmas time and to sacking people at Christmas parties as legitimate management tool, is sadly a long standing and well known fact of Ulster life. The lifespans and healthspans of civil servants especially OOPs are a statistical fact of life in the province. Insurers and investors have to be confident that they are being given the full, true and accurate picture. It is the over-riding Duty of all Statisticians Medics and other Professionals to act in accordance with Ethical and Professional standards.
To put things another way, if doctors and coroners are NOT officially prevented or discouraged from quoting Long Term Official Ostracism as at least a contributory factor do please let us all know. Finally, as follow up FOI Query, how often, in practice, has Long Term Official Ostracism been quoted either as the primary Cause of death of an Officially Ostracised Person (OOP)?

Good Luck. I wish you well. Indeed I do. We all do. We somehow have to make Life Long Official Ostracism in Ulster a thing of the past.

AIDAN QUINN

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN
