ANIMAL WELFARE ENFORCEMENT

Thank you for your email of 10 October about responsibility for the
enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act. I have been asked to reply.

Defra is responsible for animal welfare legislation however enforcement of
this legislation falls to the Police, Animal Health and Local Authorities.
