Further to my email below we can now provide the information requested.
From your request we understand you were looking for information relating
to the number of FOI requests received by Highways England between 2013
and 2016. Please note the figures we have provided are taken from 1
January 2013 – 31 December 2016. For information Highways Agency became
Highways England on 1 April 2015 consequently where appropriate the
figures reflect the change.  

 

The number of FoI requests made of Highways England:

·         FOI  requests = 2599

·         EIR requests = 198

Total = 2797

 

Commercially sensitive  = 43

Costs excessive (more than £450) = 42; please note prior to 1 April 2015
this threshold was £600 (as Highways Agency was part of the Civil Service)

Information not held   = 388

Vexatious = 23 (28 were also refused as a repeat requests)

The number of appeals = Total 65:

·         2013 – 2

·         2014 – 8

·         2015 – 19

·         2016 - 36

The number of successful appeals=  9

The number of requests with the ICO: = 10

·         4  as Highways Agency (pre 1 April 2015)

·         6 as Highways England (post 1 April 2015)
