Response to the additional data request made by Graham Badman

Dani Ahrens made this Freedom of Information request to Brighton and Hove City Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I see from the DCSF response to an FoI request
(http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/gr...) that Brighton & Hove was one of 25 LAs that responded to an additional data request sent by Graham Badman as part of his review of elective home education.

Please supply me with a copy of your response to the additional data request. In case you require clarification of the questionnaire about which I am asking, it was released by the DCSF on 24th August in response to a Freedom of Information Request by Shena Deuchars (see http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ba...)

Yours faithfully,

Dani Ahrens

Dear Wendy,

The original FOI requests to which I referred in my letter were not requests made to Brighton & Hove Council, but to the DCSF. I included them in order to try and make clear which document I was talking about.

I know that Brighton & Hove responded to an in depth questionnaire sent to local authorities by Graham Badman's review team. I do not know the exact date this response was sent, but it would have been after 6th February 2009 and before June 2009. Most likely, it would have been some time in March 2009.

The questionnaire can be seen at http://tinyurl.com/nv67j5.

Please could you supply me with a copy of Brighton & Hove's response to this questionnaire?

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Dani Ahrens

I am sorry I am unable to locate this response. In many instances,
particularly with questionnaires, the request is dealt with by the
concerned department and does not cross this desk. Therefore I would
have no record of it.

Dear Wendy,

I am confused about your role here. I thought it was your job to find information held by the council and release it to the public, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. I wouldn't expect every document ever sent on behalf of the council to cross your desk, but I don't see why that means you are not able to locate the information I have asked for.

Have you contacted the department concerned? I believe it would have been Gavin Thomas, Head of EOTAS, or Maggie Baker, Attendance Strategy Manager/LADO, who completed the questionnaire.

In the past, when I have contacted them directly to ask for information such as this, they have directed me to you. I can contact them myself, but I would prefer to have my request answered via the What do they Know website, so that others who are interested in the outcome of my request can see it on a publicly accessible website.

Please could you give me a fuller explanation of why you are unable to locate the information, or make further efforts and supply it to me?

Yours sincerely,

Dani Ahrens

This is the wrong questionnaire. They have sent the second one- the in depth march-april 2009 and not the addtional call for evidence made in September. The additional call for evidence took the form of an xcel sheet and would have hopefully been saved by who ever filled it in.

Dani Ahrens left an annotation ()

They sent the one I asked for. I wasn't asking for the information requested by Graham Badman in September. S. Tyler has asked for that in a separate FOI request (http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/fu...), and has not yet received a reply.
