Dear :Freedom Of Information Mailbox,
I feel that the letter sent on 13th January 2014 asks questions which are not relevant to my initial request, therefore delaying the response I should have received.
I am not concerned about the categorised calls.
My only concern is with the hub based at Mercian Road Shrewsbury. So please could I have information from the hub based at Mercian Road?
My request wanted information on response times to emergencies from the hub based on Mercian Close Shrewsbury along the Longden Road Shrewsbury past the schools to the island at the bottom of the Longden Road which would be the Roman Road Island. How many emergency calls take the response vehicle along the Longden Road?
I request information between 1 January 2013 - 1 January 2014.
For example (This information is from the Priory School) Emergency vehicles proceeding along the Longden Road from Mercian Road, sirens and lights used on 13/12/2013 - Times - 8.15am, 11.40am, 12.10pm, 2.30pm.
A record should be kept of call out which take the vehicle along this route. Please clarify.
Yours sincerely,
emma walker
Good morning
Thank you for your response below. Your original request was;
Please can you supply me with the response times to emergencies from the
hub in Shrewsbury on the Longden Road.
I would like the information by date and time and rough location of
destination.
Response times are how long it has taken for an available resource to
arrive at the destination of an incident from the time of the initial 999
call is received.
To help us understand your request, is the definition to your request as
follows;
Between 01 January 2013 to 01 January 2014, how many times have an
emergency resource used Longden Road as part of their route whilst
responding to an emergency incident from the hub on Mercian Road – broken
down by date and time and rough location of the destination of the
incident the vehicle is responding to.
If this is the case, we do not hold this type of information in a
reportable format. The information team who would provide this information
estimates they will require a member of their team to focus on this
request on a full time basis and feel it would take approximately 12
working days to complete – a day for each month requested. This exceeds
the time limit as detailed in section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act
and therefore are exempt from releasing this information. The reasons for
this is that we would have to manually check our vehicle tracking software
for each resource which used the Longden Road to respond on a day by day
basis over the time period specified. The resources are shown on the
software as an icon and move along a map showing which route they take.
This is shown in real time and although it can be speeded up, (up to 10
times faster) it will still require a member of the team to watch the map
for the next icon to proceed down this road.
Please advise on how you wish to proceed.
Kind Regards

Dear Lynsey Bull,
Please can you clarify if the ambulance hub on Mercian Road Shrewsbury is used primarily for service and maintenance of the response vehicles and for employee training or if it is used as an emergency response hub, where ambulances respond to an emergency, whether is it 999 or not.
Yours sincerely,
emma walker
