Respite for carers of the learning disabled within WHSCT

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department of Health (Northern Ireland) should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Department of Health (Northern Ireland),

What are the current rules regarding reinstating the services of respite for the learning disabled/their carers within Western Trust.

In the year 2020 to 2021, almost no respite was offered due to covid, meaning carers received no breaks.

Will the dept ensure that the respite lost will be carried forward, and when will this start?

Day services have commenced again some time ago, but as far as I can see, respite has not.

Sincerely
Joan Corrigan

Joan

We have received two FOI Requests from you that I will be passing to the business areas to be handled under normal business as they do not fall under FOI legislation.

They are asking questions as opposed to requests for information held.

Dear DoH FOI,

I think the following does fall under "information held"

What are the current rules regarding reinstating the services of respite for the learning disabled/their carers within Western Trust

No?

If the other questions are under "normal business" , who will answer me and through what platform, and in what timeframe?

Yours sincerely,

Joan Corrigan

Dear DoH FOI,

Please respond to the message sent on 5 Aug which outlines that one of the questions DID qualify as an FOI.

Which dept is dealing with the other queries and when are they being answered?

Yours sincerely,

Joan Corrigan
