Freetime Care Services Ltd

Dear Dudley Council,

We are looking into the potential of opening up a Respite Care and / or Self Supported Living service. In the first instance, the services would be offered to many of our day care clients, whose carers / representatives are unable to find local services to meet their needs.

To aid us in preparing our business plan, I wondered whether you would be able to share a range of costings in the sectors of Respite Care and SSL (e.g. a range - lowest price and highest price, perhaps per week, for each service type). I’m sure you will appreciate that without this research it would be very difficult to prepare a financial forecast and thus fully assess the viability of such a venture.

I would appreciate your support with this, as we try to develop overnight services, that are very much in need within the local area.

Kind regards,

James Halstead

We are looking into the potential of opening up a Respite Care and / or

Response

 1. Respite Care.

The Council commission a small number of respite care/alternative support
services for people with learning disabilities. Direct Payments/personal
budgets are mainly used by individuals to access this support. Costings
would depend on level of need for each person and this is usually
individually negotiated hence the range of costs is difficulty to
identify. Currently a lower end average cost per week for a person with a
learning disability would be £700-£800 per week.

 2. Supported Living.

The range the Council pay for supported living services is £13.80 to
£14.95 per hour with a small number of very specific bespoke packages
outside of this range.

If you have any queries or concerns then please contact me.
