Resources and expenditure on Domestic Violence.
Dear Weymouth & Portland Borough Council,
Could you kindly furnish me with details of all monies spent on or around "Women's domestic violence" issues by the council for the last 5 years? This is to include advertising, research, employment, costs of running womens refuges in your area and any other expenses associated with this issue from brochures and pamphlets to any extra expenses or one off payments.
Also could you show in detail precisley how much has been spent on Male domestic violence issues in the same time to include the above expenses. How many refuges have there been for Men in the last 5 years in your borough and what has been spent on the specific issue of domestic violence against Men?
Could you please also disclose what resources from housing to emotional support are avalaible from the WPBC are avaliable specifically to Male victims of Domestic Violence. What resources are avaliable to women by comparison. This includes the housing register and prioritisation, council funded or supported groups etc.
Could you please tell me how many male domestic violence victims you have supprted compared to feamle in the last 5 years.
Yours faithfully,
Ian King

Dear Joanne Woodall,
Thank you for your response,
Obviously from answer one it is clear WPBC Have given £14,000 P.A to Womens domestic violence support and absolutley nothing to Mens. Thank you for making that infromation avaliable that question is fully answered.
You have been a little vauge in your other asnwers so I will attempt to ask a couple more to assist you.
1) Out of all leaflets and advisories in all your offices, does the Council ensure "equal" address to both Womens and Mens DV issues in them?
2) Does the WPBC allow third parties to advertise Domestic violence propaganda in their offices that stereotypes or demonises Men, or in any way may be deemed offensive to Men and that have no reference of a equal manner to women?
3) With regards to housing, as the points system specifically awards points on issue of DV you would sureley have figures on how many applicants for priority housing are getting points for DV and how many of them are Men/women?
4) Does the Council use or receive any form of Domestic violence training, awareness or similar. Whether for employees or as your part of the Partnership you mention, if so who runs them and how much have you spent in the last 5 years on it.
Could you please tell Who is responsible for FIA information for these groups?
Dorset Domestic Violence Strategic Group
Dorset Domestic Violence Housing Group (a sub group of the strategic group)
You First Stakeholder Group – a newly formed stakeholder group formed to
monitor the work of the new Supporting People Domestic Violence Outreach
Service
Weymouth & Portland Domestic Violence Forum

Dear Joanne Woodall,
Thank you for your reply, I am happy to wait a slightly extended time, however I do not see any need for costs as this information is avaliable either outside your office door or on a database easily sourced within the Councils intranet. If you claim any costs I would like to see a full breakdown of the cost process you are claiming will have to be undertaken to get it.
Yours sincerely,
Ian King

Dear Joanne Woodall,
Thank you for your response but I will point out that the Mankind leaflets and the DV men leaflet are nowhere to be seen in your offices on the last 2 visits I made. Perhaps you could explain why the Men's leaflets are not being displayed? Also could you explain about the offensive poster that is still there for the Freedom Programme which is based on a discredited "Duluth Model". I look forward to the rest of the Answers.
Happy Christmas.
Yours sincerely,
Ian King
Dear Joanne Woodall,
I have found your other answers in the file attached, thank you for them. I was expecting them in the body of your message so it just leaves the matter of the Freedom Programmes poster and why none of the Male DV leaflets are being placed in the offices.
Yours sincerely,
Ian King
Dear Mr King,
Thank you for your email.

I apologise that you were not able to find the leaflets on your visits, I have ensured that the leaflets that we hold for The Mankind Initiative are available in the waiting room. We do not hold many as there is a charge per leaflet to the charity.
