What was the total number of waste management staff who specifically emptied residential bins?
What was the total number of bins emptied?
How many vehicles were allocated to empty bins?
How many bin collections were reported as missed?
After investigation, what was the reason given for the missed bin collection?

I write further to your e-mail received by the Council on 26/01/2018 where
you made the following request for information.

 

The Council’s response to your request is as follows;

 

Request; For the period of Jan-Dec 2017 what was the total number of waste
management staff who specifically emptied residential bins?

 

Response; There were approx. 65 waste management staff who specifically
emptied residential bins.

 

Request; What was the total number of bins emptied?

 

Response; Bury Council emptied approx. 3,516,000 bins from January to
December 2017.

 

Request; How many vehicles were allocated to empty bins?

 

Response; There were 20 vehicles used to empty bins.

 

Request; How many bin collections were reported as missed?

Request; After investigation, what was the reason given for the missed bin
collection?

 

Response; Bury Council empties in excess of 4 million bins each year.
There could be various reasons a bin is missed i.e. vehicle breakdown,
inclement weather, staff shortages etc etc.
