researching a proposal for a new power station in Grangemouth

We're waiting for Mel Kelly to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Department of Energy and Climate Change,

Re the announcement on 27th March 2015 "The Scottish and UK governments have committed more than £4m to researching a proposal for a new power station in Grangemouth."

Can you confirm :

•Is this an Underground Coal Gasification project

•Will Summit Power Group be supplying UCG Surface Plant as any part of this project

•Does this in any way relate to any of the UCG licenses issued by the Westminster Government for the Firth of Forth?

•Where will the coal be gasified - on the surface in the power plant or underground in the Firth of Forth

•If the coal is being gasified in the power plant, where will the coal be coming from

•Was this put out to competitive tendering

Can you supply details of the research planned and all related documents

Yours faithfully,

Mel Kelly
