Dear Shah Nabi,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Request. Maldon District Council is making decisions each day to balance the needs to maintain essential services and support those in most need, whilst following public health guidance to protect the public and staff against infection from Coronavirus (COVID-19).Due to the unprecedented circumstances we are facing during the pandemic, it may not be possible for us to meet our usual standard of response to Freedom of Information Requests or within the timescales stipulated. The Council will respond to your request as soon as we are able. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this difficult and unprecedented period. The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) has also published information on their website www.ico.org.uk.

There are no shisha bars in the Maldon District. We therefore have no
information to provide in relation to your request.
 
If you are not satisfied with our response to your request, please let us
know.  If we are unable to resolve the matter quickly then you may wish to
pursue this through the Councils complaints procedure and request an
internal review of the decision.  A request for an internal review must be
submitted within two months of receiving our response to your request.

We are carrying out research into the health and safety requirements for
smoking establishments.
 
Your help in answering the following questions as quickly as possible
would be greatly appreciated.
 
Questions:
 
1.      Please provide the addresses of the premises that are known to be
currently operating as shisha bars in your Local Authority.
2.      Please confirm which of these premises that are known to be
currently operating as shisha bars, comply with the Smoke Free
Regulations.
3.      If there are premises which are operating that do not comply with
the Smoke Free Regulations, please provide a justification as to why they
are permitted to continue operating.
