Dear Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities's handling of my FOI request 'Research into Modern Methods of Construction'.
I have been advised that the information requested is exempt from disclosure at it relates to the development of government policy and it has been deemed as not in the public interest to do so. The Department has referenced that the "government needs private thinking space to develop ideas and reach decisions away from external interference and distraction" and that disclosure of the information would "erode unacceptably the safe space mentioned".
I would highlight that the report requested was provided to the Department in January 2022 and thus the Department have had 18 months of 'safe space' to consider the information and support informed decisions without impediment of distraction. I would therefore ask that my request is reconsidered.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...
Yours faithfully,
Gerard Noggin
