Requirement to install Adobe software to view public information
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Given that modern web browsers such as Firefox, Chrome and Edge, most webmail and email clients and countless other applications, including Microsoft Word, can all open PDF documents, kindly explain why public domain information linked from this page
http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/about/freed...
is only accessible to users of Adobe Reader.
Also please clarify
What is the nature of the BBCs relationship with Adobe?
Did the BBC ask for or receive any payment from Adobe connected with the decision to restrict public information on the TVL website to users of the Adobe product?
Please provide copies of any and all correspondence or technical documentation that relates to the decision and the reasons behind it.
Yours faithfully,
Karin Mabberley
