Require details of William Broeksmit's Inquest
Dear Office of the Chief Coroner,
In 2020 I submitted a FOIA to identify who was present at the scene of the death of William Broeksmit. That FOIA request was refused and follow ups were prohibited. It turns out that the information is public domain - it was Michele Faissola, who was prosecuted and imprisoned at the time of the FOIA for three years for his role in Libor manipulation in an Italian Bank.
Now your chief coroner, Fiona Wilcox, took witness statements and advice from a man who would later be found guilty for Libor manipulation that cast the blame of Libor rigging onto William Broeksmit, and used the claim that guilt of such would be the cause of suicide. One of the three suicide notes, that appear to have been laid at the scene in a single batch, exonerated the late Anshu Jain, who was blamed for Libor rigging by BaFin. In BaFin's report, leaked to the Washington Post, they exonerated Broeksmit. It appears Broeksmit had nothing to worry about, and this is consistent with what his psychiatrist had said. So between the notes and Faissola's advice, the conclusion of suicide appears to be highly suspect.
Who at the Office of the Chief Coroner refused to answer the FOIA. Can you attach the high definition scans of the three suicide notes, and also present Faissola's testimony?
Yours faithfully,
Mark Taylor
Dear Mr Taylor,
If you would like copies of documents relating to an inquest, you can request them from the coroner area where the case was heard under regulation 27 Coroners (Investigations) Regulations 2013 (link: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013...). This is the email address for Inner West London: [email address].
Kind regards,
The Chief Coroner's Office
