Dear Moideen Kandu Maricar
Thank you for your email correspondence of 16 June regarding British citizenship.
The British law allows dual Nationality.
In UK law a person is not prevented from having another nationality. As such, a person acquiring British citizenship by registration or naturalisation is not required to renounce any other citizenship that he or she may hold. Similarly, a child who has held dual nationality since birth is not required to give up any other nationality on reaching adulthood.
However, the Indian Government does not allow dual nationality, therefore Indian citizens that qualify for British citizenship generally apply for a Right of Abode Stamp on their Indian passport.
I hope this information is helpful.
Yours sincerely
