Dear Sir,
I would like to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). I would be very grateful if you could send me the latest editions of the following Aircrew Publications (APs):

AP101B-4901-14 Tucano T Mk 1 Flight Reference Cards
AP101B-4901-15 Tucano T Mk 1 Aircrew Manual
AP101B-4901-16 Tucano T Mk 1 Operating Data Manual

During my time in the Royal Air Force, these APs were published by Handling Squadron at MOD Boscombe Down which was itself part of HQ Air Command. However, this may now have changed in which case these APs should be available from No 1 FTS which operates the Tucano T Mk1 with 72(R) Squadron at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.

I have conducted an extensive search for the requested APs in previous Ministry of Defence FOIA releases and other on-line sources without success. Therefore, I believe my request should NOT be denied under Section 21 of the FOIA - Information reasonably available to the applicant through other means.

Furthermore, as the Tucano T Mk1 is a basic training aircraft dating from the 1980s and is being phased-out currently, I believe the requested APs should NOT be withheld under Section 26(1)(b) - Information prejudicial to the capability, effectiveness or security of relevant forces.

Finally, I would like to confirm the requested APs are for my own personal, private use and NOT for any form of re-use such as commercial publication. I also understand that the requested APs will continue to be protected by Crown Copyright and that my own personal, private use is considered an exception to infringement under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act.

I hope you will appreciate that I have kept my request very specific and provided additional information to assist you with bringing the cost of compliance below the limits imposed by Section 12 of the FOIA. Also, I can accept these APs electronically, in PDF format, or by mail, in either CD or print format, whichever you prefer to ease the process.

I trust you will look favourably upon my FOIA request and would like to thank you in advance for your assistance. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. I.W. Whiting
