Dear Transport for London,

Dear sir or madam.

Under the Freedom Of Information Act could i please request:

1. A copy of the current annual station usage statistics for each and every London Underground station that shows the total amount of entries and exits per year. So for each and every underground station i would like a single figure showing the total usage (total amount of entries and exits) in one year.

2. A copy of the current annual station usage statistics for each and every Docklands Light Railway station that shows the total amount of entries and exits per year. So for each and every dlr station i would like a single figure showing the total usage (total amount of entries and exits) in one year.

3. A copy of the current annual tram stop usage statistics for each and every Croydon Trams tram stop that shows the total amount of entries and exits per year. So for each and every tram stop i would like a single figure showing the total usage (total amount of entries and exits) in one year.

I would preferably like this information for the period of between 01/01/2018 to 31/12/2018 (all of 2018). However if you don't have statistics for this period then just provide me with the most recent ones you have as long as it is still a 12 month period.

Thank you very much and i look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Patrick Murphy

Dear Mr Murphy

TfL Ref: FOI-2582-1819

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1
January 2019.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can
confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:

1. A copy of the current annual station usage statistics for each and
every London Underground station that shows the total amount of entries
and exits per year. So for each and every underground station i would like
a single figure showing the total usage (total amount of entries and
exits) in one year.

The latest entry and exit figures, broken down by station, are available
on our website at
[1]https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publication...
Figures for 2018 will be published in due course.

In accordance with the FOI Act, TfL is not obliged to supply the
information you have requested as it is subject to a statutory exemption
to the right of access to information, under Section 22 of the Act. In
this instance the exemption has been applied as the information you have
requested is intended for future publication. The information is currently
being collated.

The use of this exemption is subject to an assessment of the public
interest in relation to the disclosure of the information concerned. TfL
recognises the need for openness and transparency by public authorities
and the particular public interest in disclosure of this information,
However in this instance, it is considered that the public interest
favours the publication of this information, rather than in response to
your request, to ensure the information is provided accurately and in an
accessible manner.

2. A copy of the current annual station usage statistics for each and
every Docklands Light Railway station that shows the total amount of
entries and exits per year. So for each and every DLR station i would like
a single figure showing the total usage (total amount of entries and
exits) in one year.

Please find the data attached. We don’t store the data by calendar years
so we have provided information over two years.

3. A copy of the current annual tram stop usage statistics for each and
every Croydon Trams tram stop that shows the total amount of entries and
exits per year. So for each and every tram stop i would like a single
figure showing the total usage (total amount of entries and exits) in one
year.

The attached data is from Automated Passenger Counting System which is the
closet we have to passenger counts at each Tram stop. The data relates to
2017 – the last full year on data. These passenger counts are based on
passengers entering trams at each stop. The trams that do not report
borders because of either missing or faulty Automatic Passenger Counting
equipment are missing. This varies day by day but represents about 20% of
passenger counts across the network as a whole.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
