Dear Kent County Council,
I have a tenant who is wearing an electronic tag who and who resides in my HMO (House In Multiple Occupancy) and would like to request for information regarding the circumstances surrounding their tag. On a number of occasions the tenant has missed their curfew and the Electronic Monitoring staff have come around looking for them.
My problem with this situation is that this tenants tag was installed and I was not consulted nor did I give consent to them residing in my property while on tag. As I have mentioned before I have an HMO which houses other tenants all living in shared conditions. This type of setting is not suitable for someone on a tag and I would like to request that this tenant be rehoused elsewhere as this is affecting the wellbeing of the rest of the tenants who are living in the house.
I would also like to know why as a landlady, I was not consulted or given the choice to agree or disagree to house a person with an electronic tag and a background in crime? Providing housing is a business and having this tenant is impacting negatively on my business as their behaviour is very disruptive.
