Request for records

Jeremy Wagstaff made this Freedom of Information request to Department of Health and Social Care Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department of Health and Social Care,

I am requesting any records, inquest and reports concerning the death of Duangphet Phromthep, a Thai student who passed away in February 2023. I understand that the senior coroner for Leicester City and South Leicestershire, Professor Catherine Mason, recorded a conclusion of suicide on or about Oct 28.

As a journalist I believe releasing this information serves the public interest as, among other issues, there has been public and online speculation about his death.

Yours faithfully,

Jeremy Wagstaff
