Thank you for your email of 25 February 2019 requesting the following information:
“I would like to request the release, as of general public interest, of a list of procurement costs with
respect to the Clansman radio system.
Of interest is the cost/price per unit, at initial roll-out in the early 1980s, of the manpack and vehicle
radio equipments designated PRC-320; PRC-349; PRC-344; PRC-350; PRC-351/2; VRC-321;
VRC-353; and PRC-319.
also of interest in the unit cost at initial roll-out of major ancillaries, including but not limited to -
5.4m Mast; GSA antenna; EKGSA adapter; HF wire antenna kit; Wideband Elevated VHF antenna;
VHF Inverted V antenna, plus associated connection and control boxes, audio equipment etc.
These unit costs may be accounted at 1980s sterling values, without correction or conversion to
current price equivalents.”
