we should have the minutes of our parish on this website so that we can see up to date information of what is happening with our money. It's a great site for all to see.

In a small community like ours any and all involvement with the democratic process should be encouraged and made easy so that we can all know what is happening, may happen in the future and what is about to happen, and for Parishioners to be able to comment and give feedback, good as well as bad. What better mechanism to enable this than to have the Agenda, Past signed Minutes and draft Minutes made public as soon as they are produced and in the public domain. Why should that present any problems! Carol

To see the happenings of what goes on at the Parish Council in electronic format can only be a positive step forward to better communicate in a format that is more suited to the times we now live in. I really hope that the Parish Council embraces the technology it has at its disposal for the sake of the village community.

Thanks to everyone who gives their time to be a Parish Councillor - it must be frustrating to work hard and then get little thanks or even negative feedback. In my view, the more that people know what is happening and feel able to contribute comments and ideas, the more the work of the Council will be embraced and supported, maybe even assisted! Now that we have the means of electronically updating people with the ongoing work of the Council (lots and lots of voluntary time spent on making this happen!) lets use it to the full and get those Minutes on there!

I too feel that the minutes of the Parish Council meetings should be there for all to see and muse upon.

I agree with the request to publish the parish council minutes as it is so important that the villagers know what is being planned for their village. With more openness it could be surprising how many people will come forward and volunteer their time and expertise in making Donington a more open and trusting community to live in. We also need to have more of a say in where our money is being spent i.e Council Tax. What is there to hide??

I couldn't agree more with all the comments already made.I look forward to seeing them on the website.

Having worked in the public sector I know that it can sometimes feel like the only comments you receive are negative ones with rare thanks and encouragement. I would like to know more about what is happening locally and be able to comment on any points and also to be in a position to say thanks to those doing a fantastic voluntary job – for instance saw Alison in the churchyard doing a good job in her own time searching for evidence of moles yesterday on behalf of the Parish Council (well done Alison). I fully support the request to see the minutes on a regular basis – electronically would be great! It would be also be great if there could be a very short bullet pointed list of information on what the Parish Council hear of other things happening in Lincolnshire that could be of interest appended.

The request for information was successful with all of the minutes requested being supplied.

Additionally, at the Parish Council meeting of 28 May 2012 the council unanimously agreed that all future minutes would be published on the village web site.

My thanks to the team at 'What Do They Know?' for providing this excellent resource.
