In response to your request for copies of our most recent version of our
rent setting policy and/or service charge policy, please find the response
from Solihull Community Housing below.

The rents charged for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council properties are
calculated in line with the Government's rent restructuring calculation.
The attached file shows an example rent calculation and this formula is
applied to all our properties. Rents are increased annually in line with
guidance received from Department for Communities & Local Government as
part of the annual Housing Subsidy Determination.

Service charges are applied to individual tenant's accounts only where
that service is provided. Prior to implementation of service charges a
full consultation exercise is completed for each charge. Solihull Council
tenants are currently charged for CCTV and CLEANING in the high rise
flats, COMMUNAL CLEANING in low rise properties and FUEL CHARGES for the
heating of communal areas in sheltered accommodation.
