Request for further information of historic landfill site at Great Sunnings Farm Rm14 2DG

Lauren Waterman-Willis made this Freedom of Information request to Environment Agency

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Lauren Waterman-Willis

Dear Environment Agency,

Your historic maps show that the neighbouring farm land was once used a landfill. There are dates for when all of the surrounding historic landfill sites were used EXCEPT the one that is neighbouring to our property. What does it mean if the dates are blank, (a '-' is shown)
or is there more information on this historic landfill site? (Great Sunnings Farm, Upminster RM14 2DG)

Yours faithfully,

Lauren Waterman-Willis

Dear Lauren

Enquiry regarding: RFI for further information of historic landfill site
at Great Sunnings Farm Rm14 2DG

Thank you for your enquiry which was received on 13 January 2018.

We respond to requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and
Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

Please find attached a map of landfill sites and a spreadsheet of data we
hold. From the spreadsheet there are some missing data. We were formed in
1996 and only have information supplied from the local authorities to
create the maps and data. Where data has not been supplied or available
there are blanks.

Having reviewed our own records, the site is not designated as a Special
Site under Part IIa of the EPA 1990. The Environment Agency only regulates
Special Sites. The local council regulates all other contaminated land
sites and maintains the Contaminated Land Strategy. Please contact the
relevant local authority for further information.

Please refer to [1]Open Government Licence which explains the permitted
use of this information.

Please get in touch if you have any further queries.  If you want us to
review the information we have sent, please contact us again within two
months from the date of this email.

Yours sincerely

James Hammett
