Request for copy of report of Sewer Capacity Assessment -COM-194614-P6S1K6 CRM:02631000002381 (following CCTV evidence obtained 27/11/23 for 225mm and 525mm pipes (Job Ref 13498052)
Dear Severn Trent Plc,
You have advised me that 'ST do indeed have an obligation to share information that falls under ‘environmental information’ and we will continue to upskill our frontline staff so they’re aware of this.'
Therefore, I believe you should be able to provide the information to me please.
I am requesting the information because there in an impact on the environment next to my property - due to flooding. It appears that a new Severn Trent surface water sewer/pipe/outfall was installed in 1996. This 525mm surface water sewer/pipe/outfall is larger than the culvert (450mm) that allows water to flow through to the river. In addition, paperwork suggests that the existing 225mm surface water sewer/pipe/outfall should have been abandoned - but it has not been abandoned. Both are still being used and the area floods on a regular basis, because the culvert is smaller than the 2 pipes/outfalls. NB: There are also 2 ditches that leads to the culvert. The culvert was originally designed to only take water from the ditches.
Here is the information I am requesting today (COM-194614-P6S1K6 CRM:02631000002381):
A Sewer Capacity Assessment has been done - to determine the capacity of pipes mentioned below - can you please send me a copy of the report/paperwork, with all findings/recommendations. I need to be able to see how much water is able to flow through each pipe (and the total capacity of the 2 pipes combined together).
The Sewer Capacity Assessment was completed - after the work detailed in Job Reference 13498052 - Monday 27th November 2023 (where two members of ST arrived and I spoke to Emma who was co-ordinating their work to do CCTV on the 225mm and 525mm surface water outfall pipes).
Thank you for your help.
Yours faithfully,
Marie-Louise Corden

I look forward to hearing from you, as a matter of urgency as to how you are handling my request.

Dear Marie-Louise,
Thank you for your Environmental Information Request. We can confirm that
your request has been responded to separately on the email address we have
on file for you. This was principally because the Sewer Capacity
Assessment contained personal information, including your address, which
we did not feel was appropriate for disclosure via a public forum, not
least because this could contravene GDPR.
We hope the information is useful.
Best wishes
Severn Trent EIR team.
