Repos for open source GIS applications

Carmarthenshire Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Carmarthenshire Council,

Previously you disclosed that the Council's IT section have created two open source applications, Geodiscoverer (internal web mapping) and iLocal 'My Nearest' (external web
mapping). I've searched for the sources and documentation, but have been unable to
find further information.

Please could you direct me to the relevant git/mercurial repository, hosted project page etc. where I can access the code and its docs?

Yours faithfully,

D Morris

FOIA, Carmarthenshire Council

Dear Mr Morris,

I refer to your request for information, which was received on 23rd December, 2016 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The specific information you requested was as follows:

"Previously you disclosed that the Council's IT section have created two open source applications, Geodiscoverer (internal web mapping) and iLocal 'My Nearest' (external web mapping). I've searched for the sources and documentation, but have been unable to find further information.

Please could you direct me to the relevant git/mercurial repository, hosted project page etc. where I can access the code and its docs?"

By way of further clarification, I can advise that the Council has not initiated open source projects, nor created software which we have published as open source in respect of the above.

We have created software for our own use, based on an open source GIS stack (Linux, Postgres, Geoserver, OpenLayers), but also using various proprietary products.

In response, therefore, there is no documentation for them on the internet.

Geodiscoverer is internal and is only available via our internal network.

Ilocal is accessible to the public via the link below:

Unfortunately the custom applications were wrongly described as open source in a previous disclosure.

Hopefully the Council is spending our money wisely by collaborating with other Unitary Authorities, in line with Central Government's "Open Source, Open Standards and ReUse:  Government Action Plan" and other initiatives.
