Dear Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust,

The Government Zoonoses Overview Report for the UK in 2016 quotes the following statistics for reported cases of Toxocariasis across the UK
2007 – 1
2008 – 2
2009 – 4
2010 – 12
2011 – 4
2012 – 7
2013 – 3
2014 – 5
2015 – 6
2016 – 6

Can you please tell me how many of those reported cases were within the Wirral Health Authority Region and also can you supply any statistics that might show how many had ocular involvement i.e. ocular toxocariasis?

Can you also provide any statistics on the ages of any reported cases in Wirral?

Yours faithfully,

Chris Fagan

Dear Accesstoinformationoffice (WIRRAL UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST),

FOI

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...

Thank you for your recent response to my FOI regarding a response. By law, the Authority should have responded promptly with the information requested, and I believe that should be within 20 days. This period has now expired and while your response asked for more time to supply the information it does not specify a date by which you will supply it.

I am now requesting that you supply the information in a timely manner as required by law and also request a prompt response indicating when the information will be supplied. I would prefer not to have to request an Internal Review but in the absence of the information, it may have to be the next option.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Fagan

Dear Accesstoinformationoffice (WIRRAL UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST),

You have still not replied to supply the information requested or, as requested in my last communication, a date by which you will supply the information.

An immediate response is now requested. If I have not had a positive response by 6th December I will be requesting and internal review.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Fagan

Dear Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's handling of my FOI request 'Reported cases of Toxocariasis with the Wirral Health Authority Region'.

By law, Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust should have responded promptly to this FOI. On 6th November the Trust requested more time to supply information and in the absence of a further response, on the 14th November when the original 20 day period had expired, I followed it up with a request for a date by which a response would be made. No such date was forthcoming and in fact, that message was ignored. I sent a further message on 1st December as a prompt to say I had not yet received any information or a date by which information would be supplied. It is now well in excess of the 20 days in which the Trust should have responded with information. I would, therefore, request that you review my request and the responses and provide the information requested.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...

Yours faithfully,

Chris Fagan
