Report by Sir Nigel Sheinwald on data sharing

The request was refused by Cabinet Office.

Dear Cabinet Office,

A report by Sir Nigel Sheinwald on the subject of data sharing between the British government and US corporations has been made but subsequently withheld from the public. See this link for more information:

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/ju...

I understand that the main reason that the report has been withheld would appear to be the details it contains on the workings of US corporations. However there is nothing to stop such details from being redacted prior to publication. This would appear to be an inappropriate use of the secrecy available to government.

I am therefore requesting that you release a copy of the report.

Yours faithfully,

P Seurre

Dear Cabinet Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Cabinet Office's handling of my FOI request 'Report by Sir Nigel Sheinwald on data sharing'.

I have not asked for a summary. I have asked for the report itself with any sensitive details redacted. The two are not the same, so I personally do not accept that section 21 is relevant here.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...

Yours faithfully,
