Dear Sheffield Homes Limited,

As the housing management agent for homes of Sheffield City Council, could you please answer the following questions.

1) Of the 42,000+ properties you manage how many have a boiler more than 15yrs old

2) How many properties have a boiler with an energy efficiency rating below C

3) How many properties have had
a) a new energy efficient boiler installed
b) a new boiler with an energy rating of C or higher

4) will you be replacing ALL boilers 15years old and older with new energy efficient boilers
a) if YES how much is this going to cost
b) if YES when do expect to have completely replaced all boilers aged 15yrs or older
c) if NO, then why?

5) As of the last (2012) annual Gas Safe service/inspection how many boilers where
a) Wall mounted
b) Floor standing

Please find below the information relating to your recent Freedom
of Information Request, FOI0084. I apologise that this is later
than promised.

Your request was as follows, with answers provided:

As the housing management agent for homes of Sheffield City
Council,could you please answer the following questions. 1) Of the
42,000+ properties you manage how many have a boiler more than
15yrs old - 8751 boilers were installed in and before 1997 2) How
many properties have a boiler with an energy efficiency rating
below C – 14476 boilers are rated below C 3) How many properties
have had

a) a new energy efficient boiler installed - 20129 homes have had
an A rated boiler fitted. b) a new boiler with an energy rating of
C or higher – 20299 homes have a boiler fitted which is rated C or
above 4) will you be replacing ALL boilers 15years old and older
with new energy efficient boilers The Council's Cabinet approved an
Obsolete Heating Strategy in 2008 that set out a standard to move
towards boiler replacement on a 15 year cycle but no deadline for
this was set. a) if YES how much is this going to cost - The
estimated cost to achieve this standard is £32m b) if YES when do
expect to have completely replaced all boilers aged 15yrs or older
– Based on current approved budgets which are subject to annual
review we anticipate that this standard will be achieved by the end
of 2017/18. This is however subject to change. c) if NO, then why?
- As above, we expect to replace boilers by 2017/18, based on
current approved budgets but these are subject to annual review. 5)
