Dear FOI Advice,

Thank you for your response dated 16th June 2020. Just to clarify, presumably the information provided is for staff employed directly by Highways England only? If so, please would you also provide the same information for NRTS employees working through Telent, as these employees are also funded by tax payers.

Yours sincerely,

Mr [name removed]

FOI Advice,

Dear Mr [name removed],

Thank you for your follow-up e-mail to our response under FOI 101109
where, in addition to the Highways England employee salary information
already provided, you asked for the same information for NRTS employees
working through Telent.

We are writing to advise you that the information you have requested is
not held by Highways England. To explain this further, Highways England
awarded a contract to Telent to operate and maintain our National Roads
Telecommunications Service. The salaries of the Telent employees that they
deploy to deliver the scope of work under the contract are paid by Telent
directly and not by Highways England under the contract. Therefore, the
salaries of Telent employees is known only between employee and the
employer, and at no time becomes information held by the Highways England
by virtue of the contract it has with Telent.
