Madeleine Martin

Dear Bury Metropolitan Borough Council,

In London, European rough sleepers are being removed under a policy enacted on the 4th May 2016 that made it legal for non-UK citizens to be removed for rough sleeping. In order to make these 'administrative removals', the Home Office is working together with local councils and/or outreach charities.

To find out what the situation is in Greater Manchester, we have the following questions:

- How many joint operations has the Home Office conducted in Bury since 4th May 2016?

- Who is involved in these operations? e.g. Immigration, Compliance and Enforcement (ICE), Police, Voluntary Sector (names), Council (which team?)

- How many people met, served notice of removal, detained, forcibly removed, voluntarily returned since 4th May 2016?

- What is the Information Sharing Protocol between the City Council and the Home Office?

- Can we have access to the commissioned services for rough sleepers in Bury?

- Does the City Council have policy details or guidance on how to work with Immigration, Compliance and Enforcement (ICE) teams? And if so, can we have access to it?

Yours faithfully,

Madeleine Martin
