Dear Helen,

Thank you for your email below.

We respond to requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and
Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

Please find attached a summation of the pollution incident.

We don’t hold this information relating to the cost of remediation as we
did not fund any. Other parties may have been involved in remediation work
but unfortunately we are not aware of what costs they incurred. We did not
require remediation other than the cessation of polluting activities such
as unauthorised burning of waste and unauthorised discharge of sewage
effluent to the water environment. A new sewerage system was installed at
the location which is now authorised by an Environment Agency permit.
However, we do not hold information on the cost of this as it was incurred
by a third party.

Please refer to [1]Open Government Licence which explains the permitted
use of this information.

Please get in touch if you have any further queries or contact us within
two months if you’d like us to review the information we have sent.

We really value your thoughts on how we are doing and will always make
changes where we can to improve our service. Please click on the link
below and fill in our survey.
