Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your request for information which we will handle under the Environmental Information Regulations 2005.
The Regulation allows us up to 20 working days (excluding statutory holidays), with an additional 20 working days for voluminous or complex requests, to process a valid request for information. We will inform you if we require the additional time for your request.
We may be in touch with you should we require any further clarification.
We will determine and let you know whether we hold the information you have requested and consider whether we are able to release the information or if it is exempt from disclosure.
ECC does not usually charge for providing information to its requestors as the provision of electronic copies is negligible, however under certain circumstances we may have to do so if providing the information costs more than £25. We will let you know before we do any work that would incur a charge.
Please note that the response and data released to you as part of this request will be published on the Essex County Council website. The website address is https://secureapps.essex.gov.uk/Freedom_... All requests will be anonymised and no personal information including contact details will be disclosed as part of this process.
Please contact me if you would like further advice or assistance about your request, or your right to access information held by Essex County Council.
Kind Regards

Good Afternoon,
Unfortunately we have not been able to process your request within the
statutory 20 working days timescale as set out in the Environmental
Information Regulations. This is because the response contains large
amounts of information from various different departments that need to be
collated and for this reason we are going to extend your case by another
20 working days. The new end date for this case will be 20/12/23.
The ICO states the following:
‘The EIR permit an extension to the time for compliance for Regulations
5(2), 6(2)(a) and 14(2), from 20 to 40 working days, if you believe that
the request’s complexity and volume would make it impractical to comply or
reach a decision about whether to refuse the request, within 20 working
days.’
Please accept my apologies for the delay in processing your request and be
assured we are doing everything we can to provide you with a response as
quickly as possible.
Yours sincerely

Dear Sir/Madam
Many thanks for your response.
In relation to Question 1c) (the cost of the relining works), your response states "see below". However, I cannot find any cost provided 'below' and a search of the document for a £ symbol returns no results. Likewise, in relation to Question 3, the costs for schemes carried out over the past five years all seem to be missing.
Has a column been removed from the table for Question 3? Either way, please provide the requested costs.
Yours sincerely
Graeme Bickerdike
Good afternoon,
I do apologise, Highways did send a message to go out with the response
but I am afraid I omitted it by accident.
We are still collating the overall scheme costs relating to the schemes
and will forward this information one completed, however due to resources
I’m not certain this information will be available before the 40th day.
Yours sincerely,
Naomi Hinder

Dear Sir/Madam
I note that it is now 72 working days since the submission of my FoI request relating to the relining of masonry arch bridges.
Could you please update me as to when I will receive the overall scheme costs, as discussed on 19 December?
Yours faithfully
Graeme Bickerdike
Dear Sir/Madam
In the absence of a complete response to my original request of 27 October 2023 (105 working days ago) or a substantive response to my message of 19 December 2023 (69 working days ago) in which I highlighted that some information was missing, I am writing to request an internal review of Essex County Council's handling of my FOI request 'Relining of masonry arch bridges'.
I am specifically querying missing information in relation to Question 3: the individual cost for each of the relining schemes carried out over the past five years.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...
Yours faithfully
