I hope all’s well. I am making a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act. I would like to have a set of specific, discrete data, please:

(i) Please provide the number of people released under investigation by the Metropolitan Police between:

1 January 2020 and 30 June 2020

Please state the average length of time they have been released under investigation for (prior to charges being brought against them or their RUI status changing).

(ii) Please provide the number of people that are released under investigation as of today's date (1 July 2020) by the Metropolitan Police. Please state the average length of time they have been released under investigation for (prior to charges being brought against them or their RUI status changing).

I write in connection with your request for information which was received
by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) on 01/07/2020. I note you seek
access to the following information:

 

(i) Please provide the number of people released under investigation by
the Metropolitan Police between:

1 January 2018 and 31 January 2018
1 January 2019 and 31 January 2019

(i) Please provide the number of people released under investigation by
the Metropolitan Police between:

1 January 2020 and 30 June 2020

Please state the average length of time they have been released under
investigation for (prior to charges being brought against them or their

(ii) Please provide the number of people that are released under
investigation as of today's date (1 July 2020) by the Metropolitan Police.
Please state the average length of time they have been released under
investigation for (prior to charges being brought against them or their
RUI status changing).

 

Your request will now be considered in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (the Act).  You will receive a response within the
statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act.
