Dear Mr Fassam,

I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your below request.

You may be aware that, as of 1 March 2015, East Coast Main Line Company
Limited is now trading as Virgin Trains East Coast following a share sale
process.  As a result, the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (FOIA) no longer apply to the Company.

However, as your request was submitted while the Company was still subject
to the FOIA, I am happy to respond to your request.

Please note that as the response will be issued by Virgin Trains East
Coast, I will be responding outside the provisions of the Act.

Finally, I have made an assumption that the 'training materials' you seek
are those in relation to employees understanding ticket validities etc.
If this is incorrect please advise.

I will be in touch in due course with my response.

Kind regards,

Matt Short

Dear Mr Short,

Thank you for your email. You are correct regarding 'training materials' relating to ticketing validity. Please also include training on Excess tickets within this scope.

If it is estimated that fulfilling the FOI in its entirety will incur costs in excess of £450 (the amount set out for decentralised public bodies, which ECML Company LTD was subject to) then please let me know and I will be happy to prioritise certain sections of the FOI.

Yours sincerely,

Jake Fassam
