Release of army records for soldiers born in 1901

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Ministry of Defence should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

I am writing from Australia seeking the release of British Army records for soldiers born in 1901. My grandfather served in the British Army up until about 1928. I have not been able to access his British Army records because I do not know his full date of birth nor regimental number. It is a a great sadness to my family that we know almost nothing about my grandfather and his service in the British Army. As 116 years have passed since 1901 I respectfully ask that the British Army records for soldiers born in 1901 be released to the public. I would then be able to search the records and hopefully locate my grandfather's records.

Yours faithfully,

Carolyn Quinn (nee O'Flaherty)

Dear DBS KI-RR FOI (MULTIUSER),
Hello again from Australia,
As previously mentioned, I do not have my grandfather James O'Flaherty's full date of birth (born 1901) nor British Army service number and so to date I have not be able to access his MOD records. In your response of 25 January 2018, you very kindly suggested I provide you with further information about my grandfather to help you identify his British Army Service file. Please refer to my email to you of 30 January 2018 in which I provided you with further information. I am very grateful for your response.

Yours sincerely,

Carolyn
