Thank you for your email requesting information about the number of people
who registered the birth of a child with the first name 'Osama' in every
year since 2000. I am writing to confirm that the Office for National
Statistics (ONS) has now completed its search for the information which
you requested and a copy of the information is enclosed.
ONS have published the counts of all names between 1998-1999 and 2007-2009
(apart from those names with a count of 2 or less)

ONS will be publishing the long list of names for the missing years
(1995-1997, 2000-2006) during the next few months as resources permit.

You have the right to have this response to your freedom of information
request reviewed internally by an internal review process and, if you
remain unhappy with the decision, by the Information Commissioner. If you
would like to have the decision reviewed please write to Frank Nolan,
