Regards to council tax summons

Please provide me information on the following.

Can you lawfully commit a person to prison for a none payment of council tax if a person has made a reasonable offer of repayment each month?

Also would a 14 month time scale be a reasonable time scale to clear a debt in full?

The power to commit prison for non-payment of council tax is contained in regulation 47 of the Council Tax (Administration and Enforcement Regulations 1992 (The 1992 Regulations).

With regards to your second question "would a 14 month time scale be a reasonable time scale to clear a debt in full", time frames may vary due for a number of reasons and I would suggest you seek legal advice if you wish to issue a claim.
