Refuse fleet & procurement
Dear Birmingham City Council,
Please can you answer the following questions.
1. The number of heavy vehicles (greater than 3.5T and thus requiring an operators license) OWNED within your fleet
2. The number of heavy vehicles (greater than 3.5T and thus requiring an operators license) LEASED within your fleet
3. With regard to tyres for these vehicles, do you buy as part of a framework (like ESPO or CCS) or is it simply transactional? Is there a tender process?
4. Does decisions regarding vehicles and tyres sit with workshop or transport or procurement?
Yours faithfully,
Andy James

Dear Place FOI,
Thank you for your response. With regard to the 263 owned vehicles you say you buy on a framework - can I ask which one? ESPO? CCS?
You also state you have a tender process - can I ask when the next tender process will start? Who won the most recent tender? Was it a tyre service provider or a tyre manufacturer?
Yours sincerely,
Andy James

DOES THE CURRENT CONTRACT / TENDER WON BY LODGE TYRES HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE? JUST TRYING TO ASCERTAIN WHEN A NEW TENDER PROCESS IS EXPECTED EVEN IF NO FIRM DATE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.
Yours sincerely,
Andy James
