Refuse collection operations costs and missed bins
Dear Isle of Anglesey Council,
Under the Freedom Of Information Act I would like to request the following data:
- The number of households who received refuse waste collections in 2018, 2019 and 2020
- The cost of refuse collection operations for financial years 2018 - 2019, 2019 - 2020 and 2020 - 2021
- The percentage of bins missed during refuse collection rounds in 2018, 2019 and 2020
Thank you for your recent request for information from the Isle of Anglesey County Council.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, we aim to respond to your request within 20 working days. In some instances we may be unable to achieve this deadline, in which case we will advise you of the likely timescale within which the response will be provided.

The Council’s Waste Management Section does not hold this exact number as
it can vary every week depending on the number of householders who present
waste containers. However, the Councils Waste Management Section estimates
that around 34,500 householders use the refuse collection service on
- The cost of refuse collection operations for financial years 2018 -
2019, 2019 - 2020 and 2020 – 2021
2018/19 - £2.486m
2019/20 - £2.599m
2020/21 - £2.636m
- The percentage of bins missed during refuse collection rounds in 2018,
2019 and 2020
2018 - 0.002%
2019 - 0.002%
2020 - 0.004%
